the pavement museum

The Pavement Museum is a collaboration between al&dog, Shawn Bodden, and Huge Sillytoe. The guides of the Pavement Museum choose any spot within a public space and loudly announce that said spot is a gathering point for an impending tour. Once a group has congregated they begin to meander the nearby landscape, stopping to speculate over the symbolism of apparently discarded items. In the Pavement Museum, visitors are invited to touch, take, augment, or destroy the exhibits as they wish. Each tour ends with a collective scrap ceremony making use of select objects encountered along the way, reflecting in movement upon the (non)meaning of waste.
