A seed tickles the earth

The artist enters the space with half a lime attached to each nipple, a sprig of broccoli attached to the back of each hand, numerous long tree branches attached to their arms, legs, and torso, and their mouth full with seeds. The seeds are spat to the ground and watered from a watering can full of multi-coloured pencils.
The artist discovers live that they have developed a medical condition where the word ‘good’ has become embossed on the bottom of their left foot and he word ‘evil’ has become embossed on the bottom of their right foot. They call a doctor for advice and are told it is a common problem.
The pencils are carefully stood on their ends, falling over, then being put up again, over and over.
The artist breaks down in hysterics as the growing shoots begin to tickle their feet. They lie down to feel an all-over body massage and hear the stories that the growing crop has to tell, leaping to their feet to invite the audience to take off their shoes, cover their feet in straw and listen too.
The artist rides a cardboard horse around the space whilst recounting the story of a man who fell in love with a statue and the death of a snail longing for love. The audience are slowly wrapped in the snail’s unraveling shell as the horse eats the hay around their feet.
Performance created at NaveCineMetro on the occasion of Festival Nómada, San Salvador, El Salvador, March 2023.
